Important: This article is general information, not medical advice. Virtual care is not appropriate for every concern. For a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.

01

Start with the official MyHealth Alberta Account

MyHealth Alberta Account is Alberta’s official online account for personal health information. Use the official site to understand what may be available, how account access works, and how to manage your information securely.

Availability of a particular record, result, or service can depend on the source system and current account features. AlbertaMD does not control MyHealth Alberta Account or guarantee that a particular result or document will appear there.

02

A record does not replace clinical interpretation

Seeing health information online is not the same as receiving an individual explanation of what it means for you. Do not use a website or a result on its own to diagnose a concern, change a care plan, or decide that a symptom is safe to ignore.

If you have a health question about a result or follow-up, use the care pathway provided by your healthcare team or another appropriate clinical setting. If you are unsure where to go, contact an appropriate in-person healthcare professional or care setting for individual guidance.

03

Protect your personal health information

Use the official account and keep your sign-in information private. Avoid sending results, account credentials, health-card numbers, or other sensitive records through a general website contact form.

AlbertaMD’s public callback request does not collect health-card numbers, payment, or document uploads. If the clinic needs more information after review, it should explain the approved workflow for that next step.

04

When to get help now

For severe, rapidly worsening, potentially life-threatening, or otherwise concerning symptoms, call 911 or seek immediate emergency assessment. Do not wait to interpret an online record or for a routine virtual response.

For uncertainty about the right care setting, contact an appropriate in-person healthcare professional or care setting for individual guidance. A clinician decides whether a virtual, in-person, or another setting is appropriate for an individual concern.
